A brief Google search for “classroom polling tools” will return hundreds of thousands of results. A search for “polling tools” alone will return over a million. There are positively bunches of tools out there; Mentimeter, PollEverywhere, Socrative, Sli.do, Pingo, Kahoot, the list goes on! How can we begin to sift through what could be a never ending quest?
We poll it!
We would like to ask for your assistance. There is a vast wealth of experience out there at UTS and we would like to hear from you if you have used in the past, or would consider using interactive polling tools in your classroom.
Firstly, what is an interactive polling tool?
For this survey we have identified an interactive polling tool as a tool which allows for live polling of participants using a digital interface, whether that is using a website or an app. For more information on polling tools please read some helpful Futures Blog posts here and here.
Secondly, why do we need to know about your use of interactive polling tools?
Well, there has been a few questions flying around recently about the best polling tool to use and, as mentioned above, there are a bunch to choose from! And we would like to help you make the best choice for your teaching.
We would like you to please take five minutes to complete the survey below so that we can look at how these tools are being used across UTS and how you would like to use them in future. Once we have this information we can compare this to our research into available polling tools and work out the best fit for UTS.
This survey will be open until midnight 31 August through this link
Thank you in advance for your time. Leave a comment or contact the LX.lab if you have any questions surrounding this survey or polling tools in general.
