RES Hub launches next week, with six weeks of events, workshops, panels and drop-ins dedicated to research excellence and support at the LX.lab. With nearly 50 events taking place, there’s something for everyone. Browse the whole program on Futures or choose your own adventure below.
Learn from experience?
If you’re interested in the intersection of people and their data, you can hear from the Connected Intelligence Centre about their approach to human-centred data science. The Faculty of Engineering and IT will also be talking about how peer-to-peer review has improved grant success across multiple centres.
Or want to know how UTS has taken a new approach to research integrity? Join one of two interactive sessions on ethics and integrity.
Want to be challenged on the big issues?
A series of evening events will look at the major themes facing researchers and the wider University community. Listen to leaders from across UTS and stay for a drink to continue the conversation. There are sessions on what we should be measuring to define research success, the intersection of research and teaching, the value of entrepreneurship, collaboration between arts and science disciplines and more.
Love data but not sure how to best use it?
Research Data Management Starter and Smarter! will get you going on wrangling your data and giving you more advanced tools if you’ve already taken the first steps. Maybe you want to share your data with collaborators or the wider world? Learn more about publishing and get hands on help at our research data workshop. And if data visualisation and infographics are your final goal, there’s a session for you too.
Trying to make a name for yourself?
Whatever stage of your research career you’re at, your profile matters when it comes to impact and engagement. Find out how to get your pitch perfect (and we don’t mean your singing voice) as researchers from across the University sell their big ideas to a UTS panel.
Other RES Hub events will also help you learn crucial communication skills, develop a personal publishing strategy and get help using citation benchmarking tools.
Fancy something a bit more casual?
If you’re not good at committing, why not just schedule some time in your diary to drop in? We’ve got Hacky Hour and OPeN drop ins, as well as regular LX.lab drop-in hours between 11am and 1pm daily.
View the whole program and we hope to see you at one or more of our RES Hub events throughout October and November.
