An exam shell is a placeholder for your final exam in Canvas. It includes the name of the exam, due date, point value and any other settings for the exam.
An exam shell is required to allow SAU to add any special accessibility provisions for identified students as required for that exam.
Navigate to your created Quiz in Canvas.
If you have opted for an AI-invigilated exam this session, please continue to step 3 and 4. Otherwise skip to step 5.
There are mandatory exam instructions that must be included unedited in your quiz in Canvas.
SAU prefers to have exams published as it enables them to add provisions such as ‘extra time’ for students with special exam provisions.
In Marks / Gradebook, check that the relevant exam name column is set to ‘Manual’. It is recommended that marks are not posted immediately and only released after the scheduled release of results found in the UTS calendar. This allows adequate time for marking and grade ratification etc.
