This page describes a simple design model that can be used to run a subject fully online including lectures and tutorials using Zoom.
This model is suitable for:
The subject coordinator of 54052 Economy, Society and Globalism from the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences (FASS) needed to convert his subject into a fully online mode. He had never taught in an online mode and was not familiar with setting up web conferencing tools. His subject is usually delivered in 12 weeks over one academic semester. On a typical week, students attend a 1-hour lecture and 2-hour tutorial as follows:
Lectures and tutorials will need to be offered online for students via Zoom. For the case study above, the subject coordinator will pre-record lectures and embed them into the LMS. Tutorials will run in live Zoom sessions as each tutor will run one tutorial group (30 students).
