Subject Information replaces subject outlines as a key way to communicate curriculum information via Canvas to students. Approved Subject Information in CourseLoop will feed directly into your subject site.
To find Subject Information, navigate to your subject site in Canvas and select ‘Subject Information’ from the course navigation menu on the left. Your Subject Information should display automatically. It may take a few seconds to load.
In a multi-subject site, select the Switch subject code drop-down to switch between the separate Subject Information instances.
How to update your Subject Information depends on the kind of information. There are three types of subject information that were previously included in subject outlines, and these are now managed in different ways across different systems:
Any changes made to CourseLoop subject fields will automatically update in Canvas Subject Information up until the census date for that teaching period.
Subject Information does not include assignment due dates. Ensure you communicate these clearly by adding due dates (and availability windows, where relevant) directly to your Canvas assignments.
From the Subject Information, select the ‘Print Subject information’ button. This will produce a PDF version of the subject-specific information, for recognition of prior learning or record keeping purposes. You can also save as PDF or print for your records.
