Portfolium will be undergoing changes in 2022, which will provide a different student learning experience in 2023. Â We will update this resource as these changes are implemented at UTS.
You can continue to plan for portfolio-based learning for your subject. If you are considering using Portfolium in Spring 2022, please consult with the LX.lab via https://lxlabservices.uts.edu.au
Showcase your work, achievement and skills with Projects.
Projects are the key elements in a Portfolium portfolio. This is how students showcase their knowledge, skills and experience. Projects can include completed work like reports and essays (with personal information removed), or demonstrate skills like writing, research and creativity.
Students can create as many projects as they wish. Within a project, students can add up to 100 attachments (each up to 4GB in size) to illustrate their knowledge, skills and/or experience.
Find out more from the links below about how to create, edit and manage projects:
Before asking students to publish their Portfolium projects, make sure you check the Portfolium and Academic Integrity resource for information and practical tips to help you navigate copyright laws that govern the way you or your students share information online.
Students should use Portfolium to share their own work. However, there may be occasions where they want to showcase work they have collaborated on with their peers.
In this scenario, encourage them to clearly describe their contribution to the work, and tag their collaborators in their Project (via the Teammates field of a Project) to acknowledge and credit them. This way, the project will also appear on their collaborators’ Portfolio, and enable students to showcase teamwork.
To share a project, students can generate either a link or an embed code. An embed code is useful if the student wishes to embed their (public) projects directly into a blog or personal website. They can also share a project directly to social media (currently, only Twitter).
Always indicate to your students the appropriate privacy level for a Project, in accordance with the UTS Portfolium Terms of Use.
Refer to Manage the privacy of your profile and projects for the levels of privacy that can be set for a project.
