Would you like to apply for a UTS learning and teaching award or citation? Do you feel ready for a promotion and wonder how to write your case for teaching?

In this workshop, we will share some ideas that will help you present and write a convincing case for your teaching and your students’ learning and experiences. We’ll focus on applications for the UTS learning and teaching awards, which close on Friday October 21, but the ideas will also be relevant for promotion applications.  We will look at some linguistic analysis of successful learning and teaching award applications and develop your understanding of the structure and presentation of an application. There will also be an opportunity for you to gain peer feedback on aspects of your own draft applications.

Please prepare a one-minute pitch of the key claims in your case for learning and teaching, and a few paragraphs of your draft to discuss with 1-2 colleagues in a breakout room. More details of this pre-work are in the Canvas site “Applying for Awards and Promotion”, where you can also find resources on writing an application and examples of successful AAUT applications. Please contact Ann.Wilson@uts.edu.au for access.

This workshop will be online via Zoom.
