You are invited to the next Learning and Teaching Law seminar via Zoom: https://zoom.uts.edu.au/j/99973908579

This seminar explores building legal skills for students and educators on Canvas. In 2019 and 2020 we received a FFYE grant to develop a skills building module for our Master of IP students. Although our focus was on students who had not previously studied law, the skills modules that resulted proved useful for other students undertaking IP subjects, including JD and Master of Law students.

As the modules incorporated feedback, we also researched whether student approaches to evaluation changed when subjects were conducted online. As a result we developed some guidelines for improving communication with students online that are designed to improve their user experience and the feedback they provide.

Evana Wright and Genevieve Wilkinson are lecturers in the Faculty of Law who developed some of the first UTS Canvas subjects in 2017 as part of the Master of Intellectual Property. In 2019 they received a FFYE grant to build modules designed to strengthen the skills of students with diverse backgrounds in their first MIP subject.
