11:00 am - 12:00 pm - Zoom – further details provided upon registration
As part of the hot topic series Building Engagement and Sense of Belonging, we are really pleased to have Lucy Allen, and with her colleagues and students from Transdisciplinary Innovation, take us on a journey of exploration, innovation and practical classroom techniques where students truly belong.
‘True belonging doesn’t require you to change who you are; it requires you to be who you are’ – Brene Brown
This session will explore how educators can cultivate true belonging in the classroom and what this looks like in our ever-shifting teaching contexts. Based on research and outcomes from the 2020 FFYE grant Being and Becoming Transdisciplinary Practitioners, this interactive workshop is an opportunity to gain insight into student experience, reflect on your own sense of belonging in learning and explore creative tools and approaches for the classroom. It is an opportunity to expand practice and connect with ourselves, one another and our students as we begin a new year of learning
