Level

Intermediate. Experience with LaTeX is helpful but not required.

Who should attend this session?

Staff who need to add equations or chemical formulas to Canvas pages, quizzes or discussions.

What will you learn?

Working with equations online can be challenging. The Canvas Math Editor makes adding equations to your site easy, even if you’re used to working in LaTeX, MathType or MS Word. Equations added using the Math Editor are automatically Accessible and, unlike PDF Math content, Canvas analytics provides information on student interactions with individual pages.

In this 30 minute session, we’ll:

  • Show you how to add equations to Canvas or transfer them from MS Word, MathType or LaTeX editors
  • Discuss how screen reader/magnification software is used to access equations
  • Examine additional benefits that come from using the Math Editor.
