Level

Beginner. Prior knowledge of the Rich Content Editor in Canvas is recommended.

Who should attend this session?

Teaching staff who would like to learn more about how to create and structure your content in Canvas so that it is accessible to all.

Professional staff are welcome to attend.

What will you learn?

Accessible layout and formatting of your content in Canvas makes a big difference for all your students. It is critical for students who have cognitive or learning disabilities, use screen readers, only use keyboards, or use other forms of assistive technology. Inaccessible content is a barrier to their learning.

In this interactive 45-minute session, we will explore:

  • what makes content inaccessible
  • techniques to structure and format accessible content, that are applicable to Canvas, Word and/or Powerpoint.
