Active Learning pedagogy can be defined as learning by doing rather than listening passively. Active learning provides students with the opportunity to think critically about knowledge with a range of activities which could include: collaborative learning, project-based learning, inquiry-based learning, problem-based learning, peer learning, and case studies. These activities give meaning to what students learn and help them to reach an understanding, letting their brains ‘write’ this into their long-term rather than short-term memory. This session will discuss strategies to implement active learning in your classroom using the Flipped Teacher and Flipped Learner evidence-based framework.
