  • Information seems a bit too excessive, maybe cut down on the information and perhaps add some images to make this blog post a little less busy. Good use of references though, and excellent use of the flowchart to catch the readers eye and allow the to follow along. Overall, good titles and information, just make sure to stay within the 2 page limit!

  • Hi Mika
Your blog is well written but it is a little bit technical and maybe not a popular science level of speech. I would also say improve the layout and make it more colourful. Well done overall!

  • Excellent blog and easy to read! I think it would be good to add in some colour or maybe change the background colour to make it more interesting. Maybe add an interesting photo that the general public would like, that way readers can visualise what you are talking about. As others have mentioned great sources and referencing. Keep up the good work!

  • Hi Mika, great job so far! As mentioned above, the second page does need a few diagrams to make the content easier for the audience to understand – just something to break up the text and engage the reader. Good luck!

  • Hi Mika, great job so far! As mentioned above, the second page does need a few diagrams to make the content easier for the audience to understand – just something to break up the text and engage the reader. Other than that, really well done!

  • Hey Mika, really like your blog. I’ll be giving you feedback according to the criteria and what is needed to achieve full marks.

Accuracy: The information is very factual. It’s great. I can also see that you have used reputable sources.

Translation: The language is still very technical, it feels like i’m reading a medical textbook. Don’t be afraid to add a bit of flair and style into your writing, as a blog needs to sound catching and interesting. The best way to do this is to look at well known science blogs and to sort of try to adopt a style of writing you like, this will make it a lot more clearer for you.

Presentation: Why are you writing this?, Add purpose/story when writing your blog. This will allow your blog to come alive and to be a lot more engaging. I suggest adding an introduction/ like a general overview and then start talking about the specifics, this way you can have a flow to your blog and it connects all your information together. Making it more succinct and clear. Also add interesting photos that the general public would like, that way readers can visualise what you are talking about.

Sources: As mentioned before, great sources. Also, great referencing.

Pharmacological skill: Great knowledge of pharmacological aspects.

  • Info is correct and concise. Words are easily understood, as meant to be in blog writing.

To improve marks, can I suggest that you add pictures of the effects of the teratogenic drugs, eg infants born with deformities from those drugs, infants born with thalidomide exposure.

In your illustration of mutagens, please identify what are in the pic.

  • Great work so far! The first page was very engaging and interesting to read. However, the second page became a little more harsh on the eyes, with big chunks of text. A bit more colour and a few photos are an easy fix. Perhaps keeping in mind the audience may assist with this further. Overall, looking great!

  • As many stated before more uses of images would help readers be more engaging, but overall the information is very good and answers all the questions with relatively nice image of the flow chart.

  • Love the first page! Very informative and great layout. The content on the second page is awesome but could be broken up nicely with a picture 🙂

  • Agree with Kyna above- page 2 could use an image or two or even a quick “fun fact” in a separate text box to break up the long flow of text.
A lot of good relevant information- fantastic blog!

  • Your blog is well written. However with figure one you should try to explain what specifically is shown in the picture. On the second page you might want to change the layout so it isn’t just a whole page of words, otherwise good job

  • Very informative and easy to understand blog. The use of the flow chart was great – easy to follow and provided a good summary of the different classes of teratogens. You also provided great examples of common teratogens, making it more relevant to the reader.

However, I do think it needs to be more visually appealing, especially the second page. Possibly add a picture or engage the reader more with questions and ‘did you know facts’ or the like. Other than that, great blog!

  • Quite a well written blog. I would say in order for readers to be able to be interested throughout the entirety of the blog a better layout is required. By including, “Did you know facts” on the side might give the blog that extra level of detail to keep the audience intrigued.

I also saw that a little bit of the history was discussed at the end. If this was brought up a little higher it may give more of a background and flow for the reader. To also breakdown the large amount of text into smaller sections will give the audience a little bit of a break so they dont get confused.

All the information you have included is of high quality and definitely answers the targeted questions! Good Job!!

  • Very well written and easy to understand blog. The main title is very intriguing and your referencing looks spot on. I like the flow diagram photo as it helps us better understand the topic. Only little things ill consider is possibly adding some design details if you can just because the bald underline titles seem a bit bland. Another thing is possibly adding a photo in the the second page to give the reader a little break from all the reading and can also add to your design aspect of the blog. None of these comments are necessary as your blog is pretty much perfect!
