What is this session about?
Personalised message and feedback platforms have existed in UTS for a few years now – examples of these are OnTask and Canvas messaging. At the same time, a wide range of similar tools have become mature, making them viable candidates for facilitating academics to tailor communications and feedback. These tools offer solutions to support students’ learning at scale, and help them foster a sense of belonging at UTS. However, as with all socio-technical tools, we need input from key stakeholders such as yourselves, to more fully understand the requirements for such tools.
In this 2-hour workshop, we will introduce three tools as candidates for personalised learning support, and will facilitate a discussion on how the features of these three tools might meet the requirements of academics, such as yourselves, to tailor feedback and communication to students in your subject. Please note that this workshop is not about how to use OnTask and Canvas messaging per se.
The outcome of this workshop is a set of requirements for personalised communications tools in the support of student learning at UTS. These requirements will be taken into consideration in UTS’ procurement processes of a suitable tool in the near future.
