These days, creating video content is as easy as taking a selfie. For most, the main challenge is video editing. Well, have no fear! This resource will cover everything you need to know about editing your educational media.
If your video only needs a trim, here are some suggested apps with quick instructions.
After uploading your video to Kaltura, you can still make edits and trim. For more information, see the resource Upload media files with Kaltura.
Much like your hair (which looks great by the way), sometimes your video needs more than just a trim – it needs a cut. Below are some interactive elements that will walk you through the basics of video editing.
The Kaltura Video Editor is convenient if you’ve already uploaded your video to Kaltura and need to make some changes. This will save you from having to upload again later. It can be accessed by going to My Media, then selecting your video, then Actions > Edit > Launch editor.
Microsoft Clipchamp is an easy-to-use online video editing tool that allows you to edit from within your browser, without needing to download the program.
iMovie is an easy-to-use multitrack editor which gives its users several creative options.
Adobe Rush is an easy-to-use multi-track editing program and is available via the Adobe Creative Suite.
Much like Adobe Rush, Adobe Premiere Pro is a popular multi-track editing program and is available via the Adobe Creative Suite. Please note that access to Adobe Creative Cloud depends on your faculty. You can request a license via ServiceConnect.

Sometimes you want a full cut, colour and style for your hair – or video. Here are a few programs you could look into for intermediate to advanced editing.

Final Cut Pro X is a great option for editors advancing from iMovie, as it has many similar features. Final Cut Pro X may seem pricey, but it’s just a one-time fee – no subscription required. It’s easy to use and also has a free trial available.

DaVinci Resolve is a free program that is rapidly increasing in popularity. Please note that while it is popular, DaVinci Resolve is currently not supported by LX.lab and we cannot provide training with this program.
