Student Feedback Surveys: EFS and SFS

A number of student feedback surveys are built into UTS course practice, including the EFS and SFS described below. You can use results from these surveys to understand more about learners’ experiences in your course, in conjunction with other methods to collect and validate feedback.

When?

This survey is sent to students mid-session to gather their views on their experience so far.

Question content

The survey includes three Likert scale statements: 

• I know what is expected of me in this subject as stated in the subject outline
• I am making the most of my opportunities to learn in this subject
• Overall I am satisfied with the quality of this subject so far

The survey also includes one open-ended question:

• Please enter any comments on your learning experience so far 

When?

This survey is sent to students late in the session to gather their views on the subject as a whole.

Question content

The survey includes 8-10 Likert scale statements:

• The learning opportunities provided helped me meet the stated objectives of this subject
• I made the most of my opportunities to learn in this subject
• Overall, I am satisfied with the quality of this subject
• Overall, I am satisfied with how this staff member facilitated my learning
• + 4 questions selected from the Learning Modes table
• +2 optional additional questions selected by teaching staff 

The survey also includes two open-ended questions:

• What did you particularly like in this subject?
• Please suggest any improvements that could be made to this subject
