When you create a class, it will automatically have a channel for you to start with called ‘General’. You can use this as a landing place for your students to receive any updates, announcements or other general information. You can also create multiple channels to use for different purposes, such as student forums, file sharing, assignment discussions or Q&A.
To create a channel, you will need to:
A ‘Public’ privacy setting on a group means all individuals who have access to UTS systems (staff and students) can access content sent to the channel. If you want to set the channel to private, then select ‘Private’ from the Privacy option. This icon means the channel is private and available to selected members only.
Have a channel for questions about the subject. Ask students to @mention you if they need a response from you specifically, otherwise anyone can answer the question. Students can also ask from their peers and @mention the channel. You can go in and ‘like‘ another person’s answer to validate it.

You can also upload files and images by clicking ‘Upload’ and selecting a file from your computer.
Channel group members are responsible for the information that is accessed and uploaded into the files.
