The Casual Academic Program is a program for UTS teaching staff on casual contracts. It provides paid professional learning opportunities to support your teaching practice.

Who is eligible?

This workshop program is open to UTS teaching staff on active casual teaching contracts for Autumn 2024.

An active UTS staff ID is required for the Expression of Interest (EOI) registration process and to organise payment. Registration of interest in the Casual Academic Program with a UTS student ID will delay the registration process. Note that a few workshops (e.g. workshops focused on learning technologies) offered in the program depend on a UTS staff ID for access and participation in those learning technologies.

If you have an active UTS staff ID but don’t have an active casual teaching contract yet, an email endorsement from your subject coordinator that you will be teaching in Autumn 2024 to support your EOI would be acceptable (email this to iml_ops@uts.edu.au).

Who is not eligible?

The following are not eligible for this workshop program:

  • PhD students who do not have a UTS staff ID or those who do not have a UTS staff ID at or by the commencement of the Casual Academic Program
  • Those in full-time or fractional employment at UTS, in addition to their casual teaching contract.
