First Year Experience Forum: Ways to Belong

The next First Year Experience (FYE) Forum will be held on the 24th of July. This forum’s topic is Ways to belong: improving students’ experiences of learning and belonging. 

This forum will focus on how students experience the first year learning environment at UTS.

• We will hear from a panel of students on their experiences in their first year at university.
• Associate Professor Andy Leigh and Jan McLean will report on student data from their FYE grant on student belonging.
• The survey questions in the Students Experience Survey (SES) reported as part of QILT (Quality Indicators in Learning and Teaching) will be reviewed to help us understand how students are asked to rate their experience. This links to the strong commitment of UTS towards improving the student experience. Please see the recent blog by the Vice-Chancellor – Execution, monitoring change and unpacking our QILT results.
