About the event
As per the recent InBrief from Professor Kylie Readman, Deputy-Vice Chancellor and Vice-President (Education and Students), Generative AI has become a pressing topic of conversation within UTS and the higher education sector more broadly as questions are being raised around its implications on the learning and teaching experience.
IML and the LX.lab are excited to invite you to a face-to-face interactive workshop on Wednesday 10 May 1.30 – 3pm on the ways in which we may approach Generative AI as a learning technology and as a tool for engaging students in a way that promotes academic integrity and a quality learning experience.
In this session, we will explore the capabilities of Generative AI tools such as ChatGPT, the impact these tools can have on assessment design, what ethical use of AI might look like, and the challenges and opportunities we can expect to encounter in the future as AI technology continues to advance. The workshop will involve interactive and hands-on exercises around ChatGPT trialling, how to engage with students around the use of AI, and (re)thinking of assessment design and the opportunities for program and course level assessment.
We ask participants to bring their own devices and subject assessments to allow for participation in workshop activities.
