As many of you will be aware, one of the contemporary issues facing the higher education sector is how to ensure that all students have a level of English language capability that enables them to thrive both during their time at university, and in the workforce.

I would like to invite you to join us for our second Town Hall exploring this topic and the role we play as a university.

For academics and the learning and teaching community, those new to UTS or outside of the learning and teaching portfolio, this is an opportunity to learn more about the English language policies in place at UTS, the ways that we are implementing that policy, and some early outcomes and results.

There will also be time for questions from the community.

Learn more about the ‘Embed English Language Development’ priority in our 2019 corporate plan [access for UTS staff only, opens in Staff Connect].

I look forward to seeing you there.

Shirley Alexander, Deputy Vice Chancellor (Education and Students)
