Who should attend this session?

All teaching and professional staff are welcome to attend this session.

What will you learn?

You can create student groups in Canvas to facilitate collaborative learning. Once groups have been created in Canvas, students have access to an online, private workspace on your Canvas subject site to collaborate on group tasks and assignments.  You can also assign groups to discussions and assignments.

In this session, you will learn how to:

  • create and manage student groups in Canvas
  • communicate with student groups
  • assign a student leader to a group
  • create and assign group activities (for example, a discussion, an assignment)
