The Dashboard is the first page you will see when you log into Canvas. It is where you will access all your Canvas courses.
You can access the Dashboard at any time, by clicking the Dashboard icon on the Global Navigation Menu on the far left hand side of the screen. From time to time, you will find announcements at the top of your Dashboard, from the University. This is commonly known as a Global Announcement.
UTS uses the Card View as the default layout for Dashboard. This uses a card to represent each Canvas course. Each card contains:
It also includes up to four tabs – Announcements, Assignments, Discussions and Files. These tabs will mirror what you have made visible in your Canvas course. For example, if you have hidden Announcements from students, it will not display on the card. A number above the Discussion and Announcements icon indicates the number of unread new items.
You can choose to switch the layout to Recent Activity View. In this view, a list of important recent activities from all your Canvas courses, including Announcements, Discussions, Assignments, and Conversations is presented.
