At UTS, Course Intended Learning Outcomes (CILOs) and Program Learning Outcomes (PLOs) should be pre-loaded as Canvas Outcomes at the Faculty sub-account level. (If you are unable to find them following the process outlined below, contact your Faculty administration team.)
Finding Canvas Outcomes
- To import CILOs or PLOs into your subject site as Outcomes, click the ‘Outcomes’ link in your subject’s navigation menu.
- In the ‘Setting up Outcomes’ box that appears, click ‘Find’.
- Click on ‘Account Standards’.
- Click on your Faculty name. You will then see all of the folders containing the CILOs or PLOs available to you.
You can choose to import the folder containing all of the learning outcomes assured in the course or program of which your subject is a part, or you can import just those CILOS or PLOs assured via your assessments.
Import all Course-Level Learning Outcomes
- Select the folder containing all of the learning outcomes assured in your course or program. Click on ‘Add All Outcomes’.
Import Subject-Specific Learning Outcomes
- From the list of CILOs or PLOs available, select the learning outcome that will be assured in your subject’s assessments. Click on ‘+Add’.
- If two or more learning outcomes are assured in your subject, you must add each one individually.
- When you have finished adding Outcomes click ‘Done’.
