Use the Student View to view your subject site from the student’s perspective. You can also submit assignments and quizzes using Student View.
Some external tools can’t be viewed in Student View including Subject Outlines, Kaltura and Turnitin. However, students viewing your Canvas course will be able to see these tools.
You can use Student View to:
A purple bar appears on the bottom of the screen indicating that you are logged into Student View.
The purple bar will remain at the bottom of the page even when changing between pages in the same course. However, you will need to enable Student View again if you move to a different course.
Submissions and scores for the Test Student do not affect course analytics.
You can easily reset Test Student data at any time by clicking the Reset Student button on the purple bar.
Resetting the student will clear all activity such as assignment submissions. However, Test Student activity that involves interactions with other students, such as discussion replies, cannot be removed.
To return to the instructor view, click the Leave Student View button.
