To kick-off Tooltime in the month of May, we hosted an interactive session showcasing the powerful features of Zoom and how the UTS learning and teaching community can benefit from this online conferencing tool.
What can Zoom do?
Here is a typical scenario: you go overseas and meet with champions in your research field and wish you could somehow connect them with your colleagues or classrooms so that they can share their pearls of wisdom or cutting-edge research. If only there was an easy way to:
- have an online conferencing/webinar session
- organise breakout sessions for bigger student cohorts and to increase engagement
- allow multiple screen-sharing so that participants can share their presentations
- allow participants to annotate and make notes on their screens
- save the session recording somewhere…
Good news is, Zoom allows all of the above! Here is a short video of a user experience of Zoom to give you an idea on how it can be utilised effectively:
Where do I find more info?
Find out more here on how you can use Zoom to improve student engagement and interaction and provide learning resources to students outside the classroom.
You can access Zoom by logging in through your web browser. Alternatively, you can download the app and the Zoom MS Outlook plugin for ease of use.
