Achievements of the UTS teaching and learning community were on show at a ceremony held on Tuesday 21 March 2023.
Over the course of the evening, staff were recognised for their contributions to learning and teaching in the past 12 months – including inclusive learning spaces that enhance student belonging, integrated technology-enhanced online place-based experiences and the development of future leaders.
At her first ceremony as Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Education and Students), Professor Kylie Readman spoke to the quality of learning and teaching across the university, as well as the dedication and commitment to student experience and success – and the importance of teaching.
Teaching well matters, it matters to our students, it matters to our staff and as our Vice-Chancellor noted, teaching matters to our communities – it matters for our collective future.
Deputy Vice-Chancellor Professor Kylie Readman
Vice-Chancellor Professor Andrew Parfitt also highlighted UTS’s strong connection with students and the profound impact of contributions from teaching and learning staff.
We have done so well in engaging such a diverse student population over time, with 45,000 students across a wide range of disciplines. The impact of your work on people’s lives, on communities, on people’s futures, is so important and we shouldn’t forget that.
Vice-Chancellor Professor Andrew Parfitt
