Did you know that there are five key principles that ensure robust Work Integrated Learning (WIL) experiences for students, external partners and UTS? Do you know how these key principles are used in UTS courses?
The WIL hub
The UTS WIL Quality Framework, accompanied by a WIL Good Practice guide and UTS case studies, have the answers to these questions. This framework, guide and case studies have been co-developed through extensive consultation and collaboration across UTS. All the information and resources can be accessed in the dedicated SharePoint site (UTS staff log-in required).
This SharePoint site is a celebration of the good WIL practices and scholarship at UTS, and serves as the one-stop shop for all things WIL. It promotes good practice in the design, development, delivery, assessment, research and evaluation of WIL at UTS.
There’s plenty of resources for staff, students and external partners, as well as a new WIL Quality Framework with examples of how it can be (or is being) used. A selection of case studies from across the campus are mapped to the five WIL principles, the circle of WIL and the WIL typology. Academics, curriculum and learning designers and external partners can engage with ways to facilitate professional learning and practice opportunities in the foundational, developmental and professional years of a student’s learning journey.
The PEPN network
If you would like to learn more about good WIL practices, share practices and participate in critical dialogues, then join us in the Professional Education and Practice Network (PEPN). PEPN is a merger of Careers and WIL networks, and was established at the inaugural UTS Work Integrated Learning Symposium in September 2021. This symposium identified the importance of collaboration across faculties, units and centres as fundamental to robust WIL processes.
Come and join other UTS staff at PEPN and share resources that are valuable to student, academic and professional partners. PEPN will facilitate three meet-ups across the year: March 3rd, June 16th and December 1st at 1.30pm. These will culminate in a 2022 WIL Symposium on Thursday 29th September (9.30am-4pm). More information can be found on the Teams site.
If you wish to join the PEP Network and access the materials and/or connect with the group please reach out to the Operations Team in IML.
I love the new website, all resources in one. Well done! The case studies are so interesting, UTS does WIL really well.
It’s great to see all these resources pulled together in one WIL site. The WIL framework and principles are excellent ways to guide and analyse our WIL.
