Autumn session is already underway for Teacher Education and Graduate School of Health students (12 March for main calendar). To help you help them, we’ve created a list of services that are on offer over the session.

1. Academic help

Check out HELPS for academic writing and English language support, Library resources for research, U:PASS for help with certain subjects and Academic Liaison Officers to assist with accessibilities, ongoing illness or any difficulties.

2. Mental health support

The Counselling Service or their self-help resources can help to ensure all-rounded wellbeing of our students. For students who have experienced trauma, assault or harassment, make sure you know how to respond to a disclosure.

3. Accessibility

The Accessibility Service can make requests for assessment arrangements and reasonable adjustments for students living with a disability, medical or mental health conditions.

4. Financial assistance

Students can get financial assistance in the form of grants, book vouchers, tax help, laptop loans and more.

5. Jobs

The Careers Service can help students find jobs, refine resumes, borrow a suit and practice for interviews. There is also a careers blog with tips on all things career-related.

6. Enrolment and admin

Student Centres can answer admin- and enrolment-related questions. They’re located in Building 10 and 5 or students can submit a query online at ASKUTS

7. Sexual harassment, indecent assault and sexual assault

Students who’ve experienced trauma, assault or harassment should know how they can report it and the support on offer. If you receive a report of an alleged incident, you are required to report it.

8. On-campus safety and security

First-aid, shuttle bus and escort services by UTS Security are available to both staff and students. Remember to familiarise yourself with our evacuation procedures.

9. Inclusion

UTS promotes equity, diversity and social inclusion. The Equity & Diversity Unit can advise on any issues as they arise.

Drop us a comment if you have any other great services or tips to help students. All the best for start of session!
