This year’s Work Integrated Learning (WIL) Symposium will be held on Thursday 3 August (10am-1pm). We invite you to come along to explore, discover and decipher WIL gems from across the university.
Presenters will pitch their scenarios and unpack how opportunities for students to engage with WIL experiences unfold across their courses and programs. As a participant, you will have the opportunity to ask questions and give feedback. This will enable you to discover what might be useful within your own context.
We encourage faculties, centres, and other areas across the university to share ideas and to investigate examples of how the WIL experiences are integrated throughout the curriculum and into other aspects of the student experience.
Come along to share and learn how specific teams are ensuring professional practice skills, industry engagement and authentic assessment are interwoven in the foundational, developmental, and professional phases of the student learning journey.
Once again this is a great opportunity to familiarise yourself and your teams with the UTS WIL Quality Framework and how it resonates with and underpins the student experience.
Previous WIL Symposiums over the past couple of years:
- introduced the WIL Quality Framework (2021)
- explored the integration of learning, practices, experiences and assessments for a successful WIL outcome (2022)
Last year’s event included perspectives such as:
- A panel of 4 industry professionals who explained how we can enable students to be well-rounded and ready for the workplace.
- The Yaliwunga Placement Program, where students conduct a research project set by an Indigenous organisation for course credit.
This year’s WIL Symposium will be a packed, face-to-face, catered morning event with a chance to network with your peers, share stories and solve challenges. It will be interactive in a world cafĂ© style where participants can spend time at various mini sessions/discussions.
Watch this space for presenter details, a timed plan of the event and registration details! Registrations will soon be available soon in our Events section.
