As 11am hits and we count the high daily numbers of COVID cases in NSW, regular life – and learning – rolls on. We’ve been here before, but things aren’t necessarily easier second time around. While academics have settled into using Zoom and Teams to deliver classes, there’s always considerations for students’ (and our own!) engagement, interaction and wellbeing during this challenging period.
The LX.lab have been delivering remote consultations since March 2020. We hope to return to in-person assistance on campus in the near-future, but we will continue to be available to you remotely throughout Spring session for learning and teaching support, advice and ideas.
For online support, or to book a consultation with our team over Zoom, log a ticket via ServiceConnect. Our media team can assist with questions about recording video and audio at home, editing and using Kaltura – simply select ‘Media Production’ when you log your ticket. Our team is also available on live chat weekdays between 10am and 4pm for general questions around learning technologies, workshops and events. So you’re never alone!
Events will continue to run online, with everything from feedback and assessment to using Mentimeter and creating your own mind maps. Also this month, with Blackboard being retired from August 31st, we are running some drop-in style sessions to support staff with downloading and archiving materials – see this blog for registration details, plus slides you can use to communicate the impact of Blackboard’s exit to your students.
And don’t forget, our online resources on the LX website continue to expand so you can learn at your own pace.
