Do you know someone who’s making an outstanding contribution to learning and teaching? Maybe that someone is you, or your team?

Applications for the 2018 UTS Learning and Teaching Awards and Citations are now open, closing on Friday 26 October. Awarded annually, they recognise the importance of learning and teaching for both undergraduate and postgraduate students within the framework of learning.futures and the UTS model of global practice-oriented education.

Categories

UTS Learning and Teaching Citation winners receive $1,000 and are awarded for significant and sustained contributions to student learning, student engagement and/or the student experience by individuals or teams.

UTS Learning and Teaching Awards winners receive $3,000 for individual awards and $5,000 for Team Teaching awards and are awarded in the following categories:

  • Individual Teaching Award
  • Team Teaching Award
  • Early Career Teaching Award
  • Teaching by a casual or sessional staff member Award
  • Strengthening the UTS Model of Learning Award
  • learning.futures Award
  • Contribution to Social Impact in Learning and Teaching Award
  • Integration of Indigenous Professional Capabilities into Curriculum Award
  • Academic Support Award

Recipients are also recognised at the annual Vice-Chancellor’s Learning and Teaching Showcase in 2019 (photos below)

Who can apply

All academic staff at UTS can be nominated for the awards. Teaching teams and individual teachers, including early career and casual academics, are eligible to apply. How to apply

  • Guidelines and nomination form are available here
  • Applications close 10 am Friday 26 October
  • This year, the process has been streamlined to reduce the size of the applications. Applicants are encouraged to include evidence from learning.futures peer observation of the student experience in their class.
