What’s on in the LX.lab?

Looking for something different this June? 1. Thursday 6 June – VC Learning and Teaching Award Masterclass

There are so many great projects and initiatives going on around the university and easy to miss when you’re focussed on your deadlines, but this is one not to be missed if you’re passionate about learning and teaching. We’ve gathered some award winners from the 2018 VC Learning and Teaching Awards to showcase their award-winning teaching approach. share tips and tricks and a hands-on activity so that you wear a ‘student’ persona hat again! 3. Wednesday 12 June – Learning and Teaching Town Hall

Hosted by Professor Shirley Alexander, we will be exploring how to ‘Improve students’ English language capability’. This is also a great opportunity to ask questions and network with your learning and teaching colleagues at UTS.

4. Wednesday 12 June – First and Further Year Experience Forum

Do you have an interest in student transition, from getting into their degrees, throughout the degree and post-degree? If you do, the First and Further Year Forum is not one to be missed. The topic being explored for this upcoming forum will delve into Personal Learning Experiences. You’ll hear from students (past and/or present), industry partners and UTS staff.

5. Enhance your digital skills with these 3 workshops

Want to include more video content in your teaching practice? Check out this iMovie Video Editing Workshop, facilitated by the LX.lab’s media producer Matt Vella. He’ll take you through, step-by-step, how to edit video footage on iMovie!

To learn new skills, you have to be open to it and that all starts with a growth mindset! Come along to the Digital Capabilities and Growth Mindset workshop, hosted by our friendly UTS librarians.

Everyone gets nervous when they’re in front of a camera. Have no fear, the UTS media team are experts in this field and are hosting an Introductory Media Communication Skills Program that will help to give your confidence to communicate the importance of your work that work best for the media.
