Despite this year being a challenging one, our UTS Video Meet-Up events have been going strong – perhaps even stronger, online! On Tuesday November 24th, our last meet-up took place and as always, we’ve got our recordings here for anyone who missed out.
Six ways of using video in the Canvas rich content editor
We advertised this as only five ways of using the Canvas rich content editor, but you guys got lucky as Andrew Francois has come through with a bonus sixth tip! In this session, Andrew briefly covered YouTube, Vimeo, Kaltura. H5P and more ways of embedding video into Canvas in a rapid-fire succession.
During the session, Andrew talks about video feedback, as well as referencing the Creating and managing videos collection in the LX resources. He also briefly covers using Open Educational Resources via the UTS library, which we previously covered at our 4th hangout event and also covered in this useful blog.
Using scenario-based videos in Midwifery education
Next up was Deborah Fox, who recently won a Vice-Chancellor’s Learning and Teaching Award for a project which included a series of videos which currently sit on the AMSAT website. Does this project sounds familiar? That’s probably because Patrick Abela referenced this project (which he also worked on) during his presentation all the way back at our first community of practice last year! We’ve come full circle! You can also view Deborah’s slides here.
We had a great time and would like to thank our speakers for their insights, as well as everyone who attended these events throughout the year. 2020 has been an interesting year for us and I’m sure 2021 will be even greater. In the meantime if you want to know more about how the LX.lab Media Team can help you achieve your goals you can find out about our services or lodge a ServiceConnect ticket to get started. We’re looking forward to seeing you again in 2021!
