Well that’s it for 2023! On Tuesday 21 November, we hosted our final community of practice of the year, and as always, we’ve got the recordings and a quick recap for anyone who missed out.

5 takeaways from our ‘Creating Video Content’ resources

Kicking things off, we had Jenny Wallace from the LX.lab. Jenny worked with our internal team on a recent project where we did a complete overall of our self-help resources on creating and managing videos. In this engaging presentation, Jenny gives us 5 takeaways from her experience working on these resources.

Multimedia Assessment Experiences in Law

Next up was Kristopher Wilson and Ana Filipa Vrdoljak from the Law faculty, who replaced group ‘stand and deliver’ presentations with multimedia presentations. Implementing this strategy for group work and video assessments resulted in significant improvements in the quality of the students’ work. Be sure to watch the full presentation below as it makes for an interesting case study.

🎁 BONUS: Adobe Premiere Pro Workshop/Demonstration

Normally this is where we would conclude our recap, but we have an early Christmas present for you! The following day, we hosted a workshop/demonstration for video editing in Adobe Premiere Pro. See the full recording of the workshop here:

Note that access to Adobe Premiere Pro may vary depending on your faculty or department. If you don’t have access, you can request an Adobe Creative Suite License or book our edit suite and use our video editing hot desk. For the branding assets mentioned in this video, check out this resource.

More media meet-ups from March

With that, we once again close out another fantastic year of educational media at UTS! As always we hope to see you next year when we return in March, so be sure to register nice and early so you don’t miss out. In the meantime, you can also check out our previous event recaps here. Until next time, stay safe and have a happy new year – we’ll see you in 2024! 📸
